Call For Artists

CALL FOR ARTISTS TO EXHIBIT WITH THE CROP-UP GALLERY, UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM.

Preparation workshop: Thursday 3rd May, 6:30pm, Backlit Art Gallery, Nottingham.

The Workshop:

Hi, we are The Crop-Up Gallery, a student led curatorial group at The University of Nottingham. We are looking for enthusiastic young artists in the Nottingham area to take part in our first exhibition in early June.

Thursday will be an informal meeting; a chance for us to get to know you and take in to account any ideas you might have for the development of the exhibition.

This will be the first step towards the selection process so we would like you to come with 2 or 3 photographs of pieces (or the artworks themselves if you can carry them!) and be ready to answer questions about them.

After the workshop, we will be taking formal admissions where we will expect a written statement and PDF’s of the pieces you are looking to submit.

(If you can’t make Thursday don’t worry, there is still the opportunity for you to get involved! )

The Exhibition:

The exhibition will take place at the beginning of June; but specifics are still to be confirmed. There will be an exhibition theme, but at this stage we are adaptable to a diverse range of artists and ideas.

About us:

The organisation was founded at the beginning of this semester and this will be our first exhibition. As a group, we aim is to hold various exhibitions around Nottingham throughout the academic year, giving a diverse range of artists a chance of exhibit with our completely student run organisation.

A student led artist/curator collaboration is a first in Nottingham and is something we are really excited about and we hope you are too!

If you are interested in exhibiting with us, or have any further questions please do not hesitate to email us at cropupgallery@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you, we look forward to seeing you on Thursday!

The Crop-Up Gallery Team.
